MTR Biryani Masala - Product Review

THE REVIEW
Biryani is a royal rice dish that is mixed with a lot of different spices and condiments.
MTR is a very popular brand in India. They sell wide range of products like ready-to-munch-snacks, sweets, pickles, spices, masala paste etc. And so, I didn't think twice before buying the Biryani Paste. The small 100 gram sachet costs Rs. 15 and makes more than enough to serve 4 people. (Paisa Vasool!)
I loved the taste. It was as close to authentic Biryani as it can get. Another advantage is that you don't have to worry about spice and their measurements. Its all there in the paste. I think its a boon for all those who have no time to cook! Of course, this is not something we can use often. No matter how clean/healthy/natural they claim to be, such products do have preservatives and using them on a regular basis can be harmful. But, once in a while, you can give yourself a royal treatment. :)
Verdict: Definitely worth a try!
Check out their website for more products.

Here's how I made it ....
I used-
100 gram sachet of MTR Biryani Masala
Parboiled Rice
Assorted Vegetables (Cauliflower, Carrot, Beans, Onions, boiled peas)
Salt to taste (salt is there in the paste to. Adjust according to taste)
Coriander & Mint Leaves
Green Chili
1 tbsp oil

Method-
- Heat oil & add onions, chili and fry till onions are golden

- Add other vegetables and sauté for around 5 minutes.

- Add the MTR Biryani paste and mix well

- Add enough water to cover the vegetables and let it boil till it has reduced to a sauce like consistency

Assembling -
In a hot vessel, put one ladle of the mixture we prepared above.
Top it of with a layer of rice.

Repeat the process till fully done.

To serve -
Mix the rice with the Masala well and serve with onion raita!
