If you go through Tamalpaku's Recipe List, you'll be awestruck seeing so many different varieties! You'll find more than 400 recipes (I myself went through almost 250!) You never have to look in another place for a recipe coz I believe Harini covers almost every category!
[Recipe source: Tamalpaku]
Ingredients
Puffed Rice/ Murmure - 3 cups
Peanuts - handful (2-3 tablespoons)
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
Turmeric powder / Haldi - 1.4 teaspoon
Salt- as per taste (1-2 teaspoons)
Red Chilli Powder / Paprika - 1 teaspoon
Garlic - 3 cloves (CRUSHED slightly)
Oil - 1 teaspoon
To serve -
Onions - 1/4 cup, finely chopped
Tomato - 1 medium, chopped finely
Lemon Juice - 1-2 teaspoons
Coriander leaves - for garnish
1) Add the Puffed Rice to a microwave safe bowl & MW it on high for around 45 seconds-1minutes. It becomes nice & crisp. (Alternatively, dry roast in a Kadai/wok for 2 minutes)
2) Heat the oil in a wok. Add mustard seeds and crushed garlic & sauté for a minute
3) Add turmeric powder & red chilli powder & asafoetida. Mix well
4) Add peanuts, salt & mix
5) Finally, add foxnut (optional) and Puffed Rice
6) Mix well & roast for about 2 minutes till everything is crisp
You can eat the puffed rice as it is. It tastes marvelous. The addition of garlic lights up the whole dish!
