Cheese Sauce

It is perhaps the most versatile sauce you will ever come across. Use it as a dip or as a spread, it yields yummilicious results! Serve it with boiled vegetables or with Pasta or in classics like Macaroni & Cheese or use it as a dip for Nachos... In short, this is the perfect condiment! :-D

If you happened to read my Béchamel Sauce | White Sauce post, this won't be much different. Only difference is the addition of cheese. Usually, the recipe calls for Cheddar cheese. But you can use any kind of cheese that melts - Mozzarella, Gorgonzola etc... So let's start making Cheese Sauce ~~

I made it using the Microwave. At the end of the post, I've also given the recipe for making it on the stove. Choose whichever is easy for you.
(Print this RECIPE)
Ingredient
Amount
Butter
1 tablespoon
Maida / Plain Flour
1 tablespoon
Milk
1 cup – 200 ml
Grated processed Cheese
5 tablespoons

Black Pepper Powder
1/2 teaspoon
Method -
1. Put butter in glass bowl & microwave on high for about 45 seconds - 1 minute (until butter melts)
2. Add the flour & mix well. Microwave for 15 seconds
3. Remove, stir again & then microwave for 15 seconds
4. Add Milk & Cheese
5. Mix well & microwave for 30 seconds. Do not let it boil
6. Add salt & pepper & mix well

[On the stove - Help with cooking]
Method
Heat up the two cups of white sauce in a medium sized saucepan.
Add each of the spices and seasonings whilst stirring continuously.
Stir in the Parmesan cheese, followed by the Gruyere and then the Cheddar. (basically whatever cheese you are using)
Stir well and check that the cheeses have melted and blended into the sauce.
Check the taste and add any extra seasoning if necessary.
Serve as you wish.

Used  as a dip, or as a Pasta Sauce
