Vegetable Fritters/ Bhajiya (Bajji)

So, here's a recipe from my Paati's kitchen. (Paati = Grandmother) Really simple. Healthy? Not at all! :-P Tasty? Absolutely! And its really really easy.
The batter is exactly the same as Pakoda. Or you could just buy the instant mix.
Without further ado-

Ingredients:-
Gram flour/Chickpea flour/ Besan - 150 grams (1 cup)
Rice flour -  50-70 grams
Vegetables (Onion, Potato, Eggplant/Brinjal, Raw Banana, Anaheim Chili etc)
Green Chilli - 3-4 (finely chopped)
Ginger Paste - 1 teaspoon
Red Chili Powder - 2 teaspoons
Vegetable Oil - for deep frying
Salt - 1-2 teaspoons (or to taste)
Water - 1 -2 cups
Baking Soda - 1/2 teaspoon (optional) - makes it crisp
** You can use just about any vegetable you like.

Method:-
1. In a mixing bowl, add the Gram flour, rice flour, salt, baking soda, ginger paste & mix it well. Add the water little by little & mix it well to make it into a pouring consistency.
2. Cut the vegetables into thin (round, preferably) slices.
3. Heat oil in a frying pan.
4. Dip the Vegetable slices in the batter (both sides) and deep fry till golden brown.
